| Description: |
Whether or not to dwell in the conundrum between happiness and sorrow when considering the condition of our world is a situation I feel perpetually confined in. On one hand we have so much beauty and goodness, and I have the faith in Christ that will land me eternally in Heaven, but on the other hand we suffer in so much hate, selfishness, and ill-placed pride that I weep inside for all who will perish. So much love is destroyed every day, and I have created this piece to help visualize the situation. Something beautiful is beginning to decay. Her head is peeling away and from it comes a snake who is staring relentlessly at her gaze, which is fixed on the snail. The snail is hope, which must remain steady since it is fragile and slow to come. I will not explain anymore about this piece. This is already more than I usually like to reveal about my work. Please take a moment to soak it all in and meditate/pray about your own interpretation of "Deliberation of Poignancy".
