Cougar Run Elementary School Reviews

We moved from California a year ago, and we were in the Poway school district there - which is considered the best in San Diego. However, my oldest really took off in Cougar Run. In Poway they were all about numbers and being the best that they lost the kids somewhere along the way. Here at Cougar Run, they are concerned about numbers, but have the kids and their well being as priority one. My kids came home happy, and my oldest improved tremendously from the beginning of the year. Everyone is so nice and caring. I am happy to have my kids enrolled here!

This is an excellent school with tremendous activities and parent involvement. I have 2 children there and the staff is always courteous and encouraging. The staff works very hard at promoting academics coupled with endless after-school activities. 5 Star. Excellent.

I have 3 kids in CRun this year - year after next I'll have all 4 of my kids there - I love Cougar Run - I don't understand those other two reviews - the leadership and Principle are very approachable and friendly. The teachers are awesome with a couple of minor exceptions. I would highly reccomend this school and I'm a very picky parent.

I have put 2 older children through Cougar Run and have a 3rd child there currently. If I weren't happy, I would move my child. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. The sixth grade program is a real benefit to prepare kids to move on to Middle School. The teachers really put their hearts into educating these kids...their scores show it. There are numerous volunteering opportunities in the classroom and throughout the building. The parent committee is very welcoming and supportive of the school. They meet once a month, yet surprisingly have very few parents who attend. (This would be the only thing that I am unhappy about). A few times a year there is also a chat with the principal which is also in low attendance...wish more parents would come to that also. Overall Cougar Run is an excellent place to be!

As a parent, I would not recommend this school at all. The academics are horrible. The office staff is very unfriendly. I find the leadership to be poor at this school.

Cougar Run is terrible I do not know why it is considered a blue ribbon school. Teachers do not follow the same curriculum and the principal is way out of touch.

Very nice. Good programs. Close to home.

Just moved from California and found the standard good. Kudos to the Principal for doing a great job.
