University Of Denver Pioneers

When the Pioneers open their 2020-21 season on Wednesday, it will be more than a decade since Denver last played an organized hockey game. The conference play will begin in the fall of 2020, with the Pioneers' first regular-season home game beginning with the Troy Magness Arena. The Denver Pioneer says the start of the team's first home season since the 2010-11 season has been pushed back to January 2021.

After Northern Colorado and CSU entered the NCAA tournament debate last year, the game will serve as a gauge of the Pioneers' future as a program. Utah State is a very tough team and has perhaps the toughest conference game to play in, but the way Denver plays against an in-state program will be a good indication of where the team is competitive. When Denver came to the WAC in 2012, it was a conference rivalry, and we were looking forward to it just as much as any other game in the conference, if not more.

Now Denver is still a member of the Sun Belt Conference and shouldn't look too far ahead, but it's still an in-state program with a strong program.

Fans who browse Denver Pioneers ticket lists for events can find a price range of $25 to $131, but some can start in the $40 to $50 range. The price of a ticket to attend a Denver Pioneer sports festival anywhere is reasonable and can even be taken in person.

The Pioneers have competed in three NCAA Frozen Four tournaments, the last of which will take place in 2019.
